Greetings from Mrs. Zajac!  

It has been my pleasure for the past several years to work with our students, from all grades, on various projects that allow the children to express their artistic talents.  

We have students who like to write, create art projects, and use electronic or digital media.  Their projects are displayed at school.

 A study of Jerry Pinkney

 The 4th and 5th grade members of the art club had fun studying the life and work of the acclaimed illustrator, Mr. Jerry Pinkney.

 These talented artists looked at books that were illustrated by Mr. Pinkney. They noticed that Mr. Pinkney filled his pages with color, from edge to edge.  He used water colors and colored pencils.

 The art club members worked hard to copy Mr. Pinkney's style when creating their own pictures.

 We saw a video presentation about Mr. Pinkney's life. The artist spoke about the forces in his life that influenced his work.
