BREAKFAST & LUNCH PROGRAM 2016-2017

Welcome Parents & Guardians,

Here’s some information concerning the breakfast and lunch program; both programs are free. Breakfast program times are 6:30am – 7:50am (entrance on Cedar Park Ave) Gym entrance.

All students who enter the building within the breakfast program hour must participate. Regardless, if they have their own breakfast, this is not a morning cares program. Unfortunately, last year this was a major problem. Breakfast orders are placed by the number of students arriving and participating in the program.

This is very important: If the NDS program does not see a reason to have a breakfast program in the school due to a lack of participation, it will be excluded, and this will also affect the lunch program.

Lunch program hours: 11:30am (Pre-K thru 4th grade) & 12:00pm (5th thru 8th)

There are a variety of healthy entrees, fruits and vegetables offered daily. Please encourage your child to try them.

Each day the students will be asked if they want a lunch by their teacher, so even if the student has lunch from home they may still participate.

There no longer will be a monthly menu sent home, you may access the menu on the chool website (www.saschool.org). If you do not have access to a computer or smartphone, please send a note with your child and a menu will be sent yo you. The menu items are usually true to the date, but are subject to change, due to school closings (weather) or inventory overloads. These are rare occasions.

All menu items will be tried throughout the year, the selection is based on students opinion of the entrée. If 80% of the students don’t like an entrée provided, this will not be ordered again.

Please make sure you read the menu carefully. If you have any concerns about allergies, please let us know. There is an allergy form provided by the NDS program that your child's doctor must fill out.  Also, you may call NDS at 215-895-3470 to speak with their dietitian with any concerns.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the office.

Thank You!

Mrs. Kelly Stroman                                                                 Ms. Darlene Logan
